15.)
Ava looked on as the monk approached her, and smiles slightly. True, it may have been a bit odd, but it was worth learning...
"Maybe you do have something here.... Can you teach it to me now, please? I'm sorry about doubting you. You upheld to your word. And I'm sorry about threatening to kill you...."
The monk calms himself now, smiling back, glad to hear that....
"Haha! See?! I told you! The Solar Flare is a great technique! Of course I'll teach you, pupil! Just be sure to spread the world of my awesomeness! And the awesomeness of the Hercule dojo!"

Nai gathers ki above his head. After gathering as much as his body allows him to gather, he thrusts his hands forward. Let's see how good my concentration is. Nai unveils his ki. Many, many small blasts of red fly forward. It seems like Nai has infinite ki.

"It's simple. First you gather a thin layer of ki over your body." Shiro did as he was told as Rashin explained. "This helps reduce friction and adds a bit more umph to your attack."

The blasts hit the wall, but they're so pathetic that the actually just bounce off. Either way, Nai enjoys what he's seeing. He's letting off ki in such small increments that he can fire on, and on, and on. Soon enough his ki is pretty much massless. When his ki hits the wall now, it bounces directly back at him with the same amount of speed as given before.

"Now I want you to try running again, this time with your 'ki film' up." Rashin said, before going back to the terminal. Shiro nodded and walked back to the starting line. He got back into the runners position as he waited the signal to go.

Nai lets out the rest of his ki. The last bit is bigger than all the little blasts, but it's pathetic enough to simply just bounce of the wall. Nai places his hand in front of his ki blast and it dissipates in his hands. "Well, when I can actually make decent use of ki, this will come in handy. I should still use it in combat, just to see how well my opponents respond."

Taking a step back, he assumes his stance once again, and goes on....
"First, remember that this technique can only be used at day. With some place that allows sunlight as well. From there, you just manipulate the rays of the sun, combined with you Ki, and let it go! Like this!"r
He thrusts his hands to either side of his face, with his fingers facing his face, fingers fully extended and spread apart....
"Solar.....! FLARE!!!"
Once again, a blinding like erupts out from him, but he makes sure not to aim it at Ava.

Nai gets a familiar tap on the shoulder. He turns around, seeing his human mentor again. "Back so soon?" he asks. "Yes. I decided to check out west city, and then I realized I have a long way to go." "I see. I just watched what you were doing with the masenko ha. That's pretty cool!" "Thanks."

"That is the beauty of techniques," the human adds. "Once you learn a technique, you are free to manipulate it however you please. In fact, you might be able to change it so much that its not really the same technique anymore!"
Nai nods. "That would be silly though. Changing a technique so much it's not even itself anymore?"

"Perhaps. Its possible that you find a better use for the technique than what it is already used for." "Interesting..." Nai has nothing more to add to the conversation. He then asks, "I ran into someone who told me about a world martial arts tournament. What do you know of this?"

17.)
Ava looks on carefully, making sure to make note of his hand motions, their postions about his face, and of course listening well to the vital information of the tech....
"Alright then. I'll remember.... Only at day, with rays of the sun around. So, I can't perform in in a dark or anything like that..."
The monk looks over to her and nods...
"Yup, you got it! Now, some me the results of your training! Give it a try! Perform the unstoppable Solar Flare! I know you can do it!"

Shiro waited for a moment before hearing Rashin yell, "GO!" At that point he darted off, easily twice as fast as last time. His momentum at the end was so great that he couldn't stop in time and ran into the wall of the building. He wasn't badly hurt, thankfully, but he did realize he'd need a bit more practice at control.

Ava nods, walking over to be stood on the right of the monk. Looking over to her, he nods and smiles, giving her a thumb's up....
"Go ahead. Just like I showed ya! It's no problem for a pupil of mine to perform the most advanced of techniques!"
Ava smiles and nods, looking forward now, she assumes the same stance as the monk had showed her. Thrusting her hands up on either side of her face just as he did...
"Well, here goes...."

Shiro coated himself in ki once more and charged back at the terminal. This time, however, he didn't run as fast as he could, so it was easier for him to stop. This time it was his turn to laugh when he saw Rashin's expression, one of total and utter shock.

19.)
Ava continues to focus, feeling the rays of light combine with her on Ki....
"There it is! I really do feel it! Wow! Solar FLARE!!"
She then releases said tech, blinding a few people who were passing by. Causing them to fall to the ground, rolling about and holding their eyes, why screaming out.
The monk looks to Ava and shrugs, laughing as well....
"Well.... You did it! That's all that matters!"

"Ah, the world martial arts tournament. Basically, fighters from around the world gather in one place to test their mettle with one another," the human proudly says. "Interesting. Someone I'm acquainted with is signing up, so I think I will as well. Which way is it?" "It's Papaya Island. If you go southeast of here over the ocean, you'll reach it."
Nai nods. The only reason why he's here is to become stronger and to conquer the ancient way. Winning the tournament isn't his first priority, it's making sure he gets the valuable fighting experience he needs.

"Y-you just ran 100 yards in 4.3 seconds." His teacher said, still stunned by the feat. "And you used the film twice." Shiro shrugged. To be honest, he was beginning to feel the strain from all this ki use.

"Would you be interested in learning another technique soon?" the human asks. "No thanks... At this point I just need more finesse. I need to enjoy good sparring matches with these weights on... they'll be absolutely essential." "Be sure to add more weights to your cape. The cape didn't seem to hold you back all that much," the human said. "Eventually it won't even slow you down."
|
|
|
Post by Nai on May 16, 2009 19:47:33 GMT -5
The human was right. Nai was feeling like this cape was just becoming a normal part of his outfit, like his gi, the shoes and the sash. He was already making more progress on Earth than he was on Namek, if his weights were starting to not hold him back anymore. "Hopefully its not too expensive to make this thing heavier."

20.)
Ava looks over to the monk and laughs lightly. It was the first time she had felt good about something in a long time....
"Thank you, you really are a great teacher afterall...."
Turning to him now, she gives him a hug. He blushes heavily, a goofy grin creeping across his face....
"S-Sure.... Don't mention it.... C-Come back anytime... I-I can teach you some more stuff...."
She lets him go at that, looking to him with a warm smile....
"I just might do that. Thank you, I'm sure this will come in very handy. Well, I must be off now... Good-bye."
Waving to him, she turns away, walking to explore the dojo a bit more.

"People usually don't wear whole articles of clothing that hold them back. Usually its just wristbands or some small article. But I'm sure if you go to the store here they can make your cape heavier." Nai nods. I wonder why I actually wear this cape. Most Namekians don't wear this ridiculous article of clothing. I guess I must've really liked the way it looked when I was growing up.

"Well, that's about all there is to it. You use that film to make yourself faster, then charge at someone and beat 'em down. Not that hard, really." Rashin said, when he finally got over Shiro's abnormal speed and skill. Shiro however, felt the skill was quite difficult to learn. Maneuvering at that speed would take real skill.

"Anyway, I'll leave you on your own. Good luck with your training!" The human walks away, waving goodbye. Nai waves goodbye as well. He stands there, pondering what exactly he could do now. He could try to spar random fighters, but he doesn't know who to pick on...

With that belief in mind Shiro turned and looked at the training dummies. He formed the film over his body and charged, stopping just short of the first dummy, and only because he struck it with his palm. After that first blow, a rain of strikes descended upon the poor piece of wood, quickly reducing it to a pile of match sticks.

Just for the hell of it, Nai picks his cape up off his body and lets it fall to the ground. The cape falls hard to the ground, and surprisingly enough, Nai doesn't feel much of a difference. Wow. I feel just a tiny bit lighter, but that's it. Hmm... Nai picks up his cape and fits it back on. I'll train a little more then get this thing heavier. Wow, I'm impressed at how far I'm coming!

At that point, Shiro's energy was getting low, and his breathing grew harder. He rested against one of the remaining dummies, thinking about how this new skill worked. It's nothing more than an accelerated combo, right?

As he thought about the mechanics of his new found attack, an idea began forming. I wonder, would it work with something other than palm strikes? As that thought crossed his mind, one of his hands slipped to the handle of his sword.

"Actually, I wonder if I can just fire a plain ki blast without needing to use some sort of fancy technique." Nai brings his hand behind him. He focuses a tiny bit and tries to gather energy. It's actually even harder to do, and he's having very little luck. Didn't think this would be so hard.

Now with a new technique in her arsenal, she felt fairly good about her recent progression in fighting and all. Though, she still hadn't found out anything about her past.... Why was fighting so interesting to her...? It had to be because of what happened to her. Was he just like this too? That had to be the case. After all, she didn't seem to enjoy battle that much.... But it was what was inside her that made her want battle. Still, she needed to find out about her past, that was the most important thing.

In an instant Shiro's body was once more covered by this film, but this time he extended it to his swords as well. Three quick slashes and the second dummy fell. It wasn't as damaged as the other over all, but more threatening for the types of wounds inflicted.
