Magic wise, there's also golems and homunculi. Although, I suppose all I'm trying to do is make a temporary ki golem, so I guess I could try to do the same thing. But that might take too long.

Besides, I never learned how to infuse my soul into objects. That's something on the level of the Grand Arcanum. Definitely not suitable for an apprentice to learn.

But, that might be the only way for it to work. I'll just have to experiment a bit, I suppose. But how to make sure I don't kill myself?

Issilude sighed. This would be so much easier if I could go visit Uncle Doliver. Heck, if I could learn from him, I wouldn't need this stupid tournament to know how to protect people. He could teach me himself.

Well, I better get started. He decided, standing. And then he swiped through the air with either hand, opening two holes in space opposite each other. Out of each hole, two rows of books started to slide past as if on a conveyor belt, exiting through the other hole.

Issilude looked at each book that passed, then grabbed one and gestured. The books still in the world passing into the holes before the holes sealed up again. Issilude sat back down on the rock and started to read.

It took almost an hour of research and trial and error, but eventually Issilude made a workable ki golem guardian. And it only took him a few moments to do now that he knew how. Well, that's one down.

Now, what else should I try? He thought, leaning back on the rock as he stroked the top of his ki dragon's head. He squinted as the sunlight got in his eyes.

Solar Flare could use a few adjustments. As it is, it's just a delay tactic. But if I could tweak it a bit...

Issilude sat up again. Light energy has a lot of potential. If I could focus that energy like a ki attack, then I should be able to make a viable attack out of it.

I already know how to gather it together. He thougth, bringing his hands op to frame his face. But how do I focus it?

It can't be that different from focusing a ki beam. Issilude shrugged, and tried to fire the energy in a beam. Unfortunately, the energy just scattered in the usual light flash.

Issilude shrugged and tried again. He got back into position with his hands framing his face and tried to bring the light energy together. It's harder to control than I thought.

Once the energy was together, Issilude tried again. Again, all he got was a bright flash of light. Why is this so much harder than a normal attack?

Issilude stopped for a moment and thought. Okay, so what's the difference between solar energy and ki energy? Aside from where they come from, of course.

Unless, that's the problem. My body's used to controlling ki, but not sunlight. All I have to do is compensate. He thought, nodding and gathering the energy once more.

He released the energy again, and was once more blinded by a bright flash. However, this flash wasn't as bright as the ones from before, and it was accomponied by a large explosion. When he could see again, Issilude saw a large crater where a rock had been only moments before.

Well, that's a happy side effect. He thought, rubbing his eyes. Now, what's next?

Well, there's that ki orb distant punch attack. I could adjust that a bit to make it useful. Issilude thought, holding out a hand. Ki began to gather there, slowly forming into a sphere.

The ball began to float over Issilude's hand. The mutant directed the orb to float in various patterns and trajectories, creating designs in the air. He payed close attention to how the orb moved, trying to think of what would be a good use for it.

A fairly strong ki began approaching. Issilude turned, stopping his ki orb as he did. It was a Saiyan elite, judging by the armor.

The Saiyan landed by Issilude and grabbed his arm. "You've been called to the arena. Let's go." The man said, pulling Issilude with him.

Issilude found himself being dragged along by the elite. Well, he would have, if he wasn't a good deal faster than the saiyan. For an elite, the guy's rather slow, isn't he?

Still, what can I do with Spirit Ball. It's little more than a long range melee attack, and I'm not too good at those. I wish I had an idea.

Issilude continued to think as he flew over the ground back towards the capital and the arena. Maybe I should make it a weapon? That would work.

I should also try to make sure I have a failsafe. Incase I lose control of the attack. Maybe make it homing?

Issilude nodded and sped up, having a solid idea now. And then, it stabs them and blows up. Perfect!
