With Capsule Corp as damaged as it was, Shiro was unable to purchase a space ship and travel as he wanted. So he was instead forced to continue his life of the previous two years, traveling from city to city to train in their dojos. However, now that he was the first runner-up in the World Martial Arts Tournament, his life had changed significantly. Fighters from all over sought him out, wanting training or matches against him, while fangirls, and some boys, followed him around, professing love in some of the creepiest ways possible. Shiro felt that this was a good thing; more challengers meant more techniques to observe and counter, whereas the stalkers were a good way for him to practice running away and evade. This was all that he did for six months, except for a short period where he helped six other people defend Earth from a Changeling. After six months, when he grew bored of this, Shiro went to visit Korin.
Shiro asked Korin for training, but the cat refused. “I can’t teach you anything,” he said, “and the one thing I can do for you, you’re not ready for.” However, after much begging, Shiro convinced Korin to teach him to sense ki. This turned out to be remarkably hard for Shiro, and it took him another two months before he had mastered the art. All during this he continued training on his own, occasionally even convincing Korin to spar with him, losing each time. Once he learned his new skill, Korin told him to fly high above the Tower. “There’s a platform up there called the Lookout. If you really want to get better, I suggest you train with Mr. Popo. Once you’re done, come back here.” And so Shiro went to meet the Guardian of Earth and his genie assistant.
Now at the Lookout, Shiro told the two people he saw there about Korin’s advice. Mr. Popo accepted him as a student, and his training began. However, this training was much different from what he was used to. Mr. Popo spent a great deal of time teaching him about the different races, their history, and their strengths and weaknesses. These lessons were emphasized with visits to the past, via the Pendulum Room. In this way, Shiro grew more experienced fighting different opponents with different fighting styles in different terrains. This was how he spent the last four months of the year since Grock’s defeat.
