Name: Gauge
Race: Saiyan/Unknown Hybrid
Age: Unknown
Sex: Male
Alignment: Neutral
Hair Color: Pale white
Hair Style: Just above shoulder-length and messy
Eye Color: Normally cold blue, but changes color depending on atmospheric temperatures; when exposed to heat, they turn red, in the dark, they turn black, in the cold, they turn dark blue, etc. This allows him to adapt to different levels of light. Body Appearance: A normal-sized person, with a decent build. His features are plain and mostly emotionless, but somewhat handsome nonetheless. His eyes have dark marks under them, from long sessions of restlessness. There are cuts on his temples where some kind of surgery has been done, but his hair mostly manages to hide this.
Clothes: Originally wore a heavy set of armor with a long, flowing red cape (see picture above), but now wears simple human clothing; a plain white t-shirt and blue jeans, with a light-weight black jacket. Also wears stylish black low-cut boots.
Ki/Energy Color: White/blue electricity
Quote: "Redemption or Revenge?"
Story: Once one of the most powerful beings in the universe, Gauge was feared by many as he ruthlessly slaughtered everyone in his path and attempted to conquer the cosmos. Never before had anyone witnessed such an intense level of power and rage within an individual, fueled by an unknown source that caught many off-guard. The true origins of Gauge and his powers were unknown, as he himself never revealed this to anyone. He simply went and did as he pleased, killed without remorse.
However, as he soon attempted to raid and enslave the inhabitants of a mysterious planet he'd never been to before, slaughtering the people there; the men, the women, and even children, the tables were suddenly turned as the military forces cleverly managed to intoxicate him, rendering him unconscious. During this time, they made severe modifications to his body and completely wiped his memory. Now brainwashed, they reawakened him and used him as their own slave in order to fulfill their own selfish deeds.
Years passed, with the race of beings who would come to be known as The Electus, using Gauge as their own personal powerhouse to conquer and change the galaxy as they pleased. With time, they came to be known as one of the most feared and respected races in the galaxy.
As time went on, Gauge gradually began to relearn the things he'd forgotten, watching as The Electus shed the blood of the innocent, just as he had, and it frequently brought back memories. Memories that he, now, as a completely different person, rejected and refused to accept. As they came upon one planet in particular, Erelion 7, a peaceful world, Gauge was ordered to murder the inhabitants mercilessly.
Although he now rejected such feelings, he knew that if he did not obey he would be beaten, as usual when he refused to comply with his 'masters' wishes. And so he murdered and fought off the defenders of Erelion 7 for as long as he could, giving in to the commands. Until he came upon a young woman that caught his eye and stopped him in his murderous tracks.
The woman lay half naked and afraid on the ground, covered in blood. The blood of her loved ones as she held them in her arms during their last moments. He had done this. "I did this..." He had hurt this beautiful woman. Like a young child suddenly coming to realize the meaning and seriousness of death, Gauge could do nothing but stand there as the chaos ensued around them, staring down at the woman. More memories of his past, and then memories of someone else, flashed within his mind and brought him to his knees.
Seeing a chance at attacking the enemy, the woman suddenly reached out, screaming, and grabbed onto the sides of Gauge's head with both hands. She dug her fingers into his temples and he could feel something strange happening to him. The power he'd always felt within him was slowly leaving him, as though being drained by the woman's touch. He felt weak, nauseous, helpless...Human.
No longer did energy surge through his body, no more could he pull off the amazing feats he'd once been able to. Seeing him being attacked, his captures quickly came to his rescue and stabbed the woman through the throat, blood spraying everywhere as she slowly released her grip on him and collapsed to the ground, dead. But it was too late. Whatever she had done to him, was now permanent.
He was no longer a powerhouse. Instead, he was normal and weak, all the powers he'd acquired having been drained from him. His head was filled with memories and feelings of all the people he'd mercilessly killed in the past. And the woman's magic touch had also, surprisingly, brought back all of his own memories. He could see and feel all the pain he'd caused, all the hopes and dreams he'd crushed, and what kind of monster he used to be. And also his true origins...
He was in fact not even born, but created by someone. A group of people. On the planet Earth, scientists had recovered the remains of an ancient, mysterious civilization and acquired some of it's DNA. They had attempted to splice it with Human DNA, but it proved too weak as the unknown DNA simply eradicated the Human's. It was realized that they would need the blood of a stronger race capable of withstanding the overwhelming acid level of the blood. And so, after some background checks, they came to the decision that they would use the blood of the Saiyans, in order to try and recreate the ancient civilization.
As expected, this splicing of the two DNAs worked, and they watched over time as the new lifeform began to grow. As the being reached it's final stages, however, the molecular cells within it's body began to react abnormally, growing and constantly transforming at an exponential rate. The supernatural, spiritual presence known as "ki" was being magnified several times over by the DNA of the ancient civilization, causing an overload of power to explode within the lifeform.
In one huge, unfocused blast of explosive energy, an entire continent of Earth was cratered, destroying all life within it's radius, and the sheer cataclysmic force of the blast knocked the lifeform up and through the atmospheric shield surrounding the planet, launching him into space.
Upon attaining consciousness, overloaded by the power that caused unbearable pain upon it's body, the being began to unconsciously destroy planets. Over time, as it became more adapted to it's surroundings and slowly gained control over it's overwhelming abilities, the being who came to call itself Gauge selfishly looked out for nothing more than itself. And without any other knowledge of other feelings, it's first one being anger and rage, destroying everything...the lifeform had stuck to that feeling and continued to wreak havoc.
But now it had changed. Because of a twist of fate, it was no longer a thing, but a person. A person who had finally come to learn the importance and fragile meaning of all life. And here he was, several years later, sitting on his knees on Erelion 7, drained of his powers, and surrounded by death. Death he'd caused. Staring down at the body of the woman who'd taken his powers from him, and showed him the pain he'd caused, he wanted to thank her. Thank her for releasing him from his torment, and showing him that there's more to life than death and chaos.
Angered by his disobedience and failure, and now uselessness, Gauge's slavers began to beat him down, hitting him with whips, cursing at him. He could feel the anger building up in him, and in the pit of himself he could feel a source of energy the woman had left inside him as well. She wanted him to have it, to use it on himself, and the rest of the beings on this planet. And so he would. If that was the last wish of the woman who had saved him, so be it. In a blast of rage and fury, Gauge released the energy and watched as both himself and his captures were blown away.
In the resulting hours that followed, Gauge slowly regained consciousness only to find that he was still alive, while everyone else was dead. His body was...regenerating...repairing itself. At a slow rate, but an efficient one. And when he could finally function normally again, he decided that he had been given a second chance. And he would use it wisely now, knowing all he needed to know.
Finding a nearby spacepod on Erelion 7, he took it and returned to Earth, in hopes of recovering more information about his origins, as well as to find a meaningful purpose in the universe...
Starting Location: Earth
Signature Technique
Name: Adapt
Description: Because of his unique Hybrid DNA, Gauge is capable of adapting to almost anything over time, including the atmosphere as well as the attacks of his opponents. Although he may be severely harmed or have trouble dealing with them the first time, after a while his body learns to prepare and react accordingly to the attack, rendering him somewhat immune to whatever's thrown at him.
Special Effects: After the first time seeing or being exposed to an opponent's attack, Gauge's body begins to go over and try to understand what just happened to it. It rectifies itself by recording the attacking methods of the technique and preparing for it.
Defects: Must have witnessed opponent's ability at least once. Requires three turns to begin the analyzing process. Lasts for remainder of battle, and wears off afterward. Only usable twice per battle.
Desperation Attack
Name: Erelion 7
Description: Summoning all the pain, anger, horrendous memories and visions he's experienced to the core of himself, Gauge releases it in one huge blast, affecting everyone in the area within a 600 mile radius. The mystic energy envelopes everyone within range, heavily damaging them both physically and mentally, as well as clouding their focus. These effects last for five turns.
