Oryan spent several days on the Planet of the Kais after returning their from Badura's training. He was praised for saving a Kai that had been enslaved by Badura, but the truth was that Oryan simply wanted to repay the Kai for healing him and saving his life on numerous occasions. After he was rested up, he decided to head to a planet that he hadn't had much interaction with before. He told Soriyu that he would craft a sword for him, but because of Badura's training that was not possible at the time. Bearing this in mind, along with the fact that Soriyu was a saiyan, Oryan used the Kai Transmission service to reach Planet Vegeta.
Having fought Soriyu in the tournament not too long ago, Oryan was familiar with the Ki signature of his target. That made finding Soriyu rather easy. Soriyu explained that his time on Vegeta had begun to grow boring, and he needed to form a base of operations for a 'group' he was bringing together. Soriyu explained that his alliance, called "Knights" would be a pantheon of skilled sword wielders fighting for all that was just and good. Oryan agreed to join almost without a second thought.
Soriyu decided to travel the universe in order to get away from the boredom of Planet Vegeta. Oryan agreed to find him again at some point and then went back to the Planet of the Kais. He knew that his strength had increased drastically since his first training session with the Elder Kai, so he decided now might be an opportune time to request the second stage of the Elder's training. Oryan was unsure of what the training would consist of, but he expected something amazing.
Oryan's expectations were blown away. The second part of the training to prepare for the final stage was unreal. Oryan was pitted against three other Kais of strength similar to his own in an all out four way battle royal. On top of that, the circumstances of the previous training were recreated, but with a slightly different twist. Instead of giant Ka-tchin spikes flying through the air that Oryan had to dodge, the battlefield was covered with mines made of the Elder Kai's ki. They were so numerous that, once inside the maze of mines, you could only see small portions of the outside world.
The Elder explained that they would fight under these extreme conditions. Only the winner would be able to go on to the next final stage of training. Oryan was amazed to find that one of his opponents in this match was the same kai that he'd rescued from Badura's slavery. Oryan took a moment to properly thank him and then the battle was on.
The fight was the most intense battle that Oryan had ever been in. Each opponent trying to keep themselves in the fight by evading one another's attacks while also dodging the floating Ki mines that trapped them in the battlefield.
The fight raged on until only Oryan and the Kai he'd rescued remained in the maze. The other two had been defeated and were receiving emergency healing from other Kais that were on standby. "Don't take pity on my because I was the demon king's slave. If you don't fight all out, I will make you regret it. I know things about you that no one else does. Understand?"
This put Oryan between a rock and a hard place. He could fight all out and, if he won, possibly anger the kai and cause him to let out that rather embarrassing incident, or he could purposely lose and achieve the same result. He chose to fight. At least if he won, they'd pity him less and the embarrassment would be minimized.
Both Oryan and his opponent, Garun, were nearly exhausted from fighting the other two Kais before. They decided to stake their victory all on a single clash. They would use all their remaining energy in a beam struggle to determine the victor.
Both fighters gathered their energy and, giving each other a nod, fired off their attacks. Oryan had used the power of the Dodonpa Wave. He couldn't quite tell exactly what it was that his opponent had used. It was a glowing purple beam of unreal strength.
It looked as though the Garun had an easy victory when Oryan's power suddenly increased. Not by a small degree, either. His aura shifted from swirling orange and silver to a pure silver aura with orange lightening coursing through it. His hair stood on end and turned silver while his eyes glowed a fierce orange not unlike his aura's lightening.
He felt a strange new power surging through him. Perhaps through all his insanity, the demon king had spoken some words of truth. Oryan was very close to achieving the next level of might after his training was finished. This fight had given him the last shove he needed to push him over the edge.
With his power on a new level compared to Garun, Oryan's Dodonpa Wave drove through the purple beam and blasted Garun into unconsciousness.
As Oryan fell to one knee on the ground, the Elder made his mine maze dissipate. The fight was finally at its end. Oryan hadn't expected such a strange outcome. The fact that the Kai he save turned out to have power almost equal to his was mind boggling. Still, now he could go for another extensive set of travels before undergoing the final stage of the Elder's training. After all, if stage two was this intense then stage three must be insane.
Despite what he expected, Garun did not let out Oryan's secret. It seemed that all he wanted was a true all out battle. Since Oryan had given him one, Garun simply returned to his training. Oryan said nothing to him and made his plans to venture into the universe again.
Now he went to the Kai transmission service once again. This time he requested that all the Kai's search for a specific energy signature. He used telepathy to convey its likeness to them and they began their search. After a few hours one of them reported the location of Soriyu on a remote planet known as Excalibur. Oryan requested that they take him there. Naturally they agreed and he was off.
During his time on planet Excalibur Oryan created a sword for Soriyu as he had promised. They also engaged in many training sessions to hone their swordsmanship to its finest level. It was slightly harder for Soriyu to keep up with Oryan now that he had a new form above his previous one, but their training was still harsh for both sides.
After some time on Planet Excalibur Oryan received a telepathic message from the Elder Kai requesting him back on the planet of the Kais. Oryan bade Soriyu farewell and he transmitted to his home planet. Once he arrived Oryan was informed of the reason for his visit. Although he was not to formally become the Supreme Kai's assistant, he would team up with someone who was as a means of preparation for the Elder Kai's final stage of training and to back up the assistant himself.
It was at this time that Oryan met Gozu. It was a surprise to Oryan, because he mistook Gozu for his ancestor, Goku. He felt foolish for making this mistake, but he expected that lots of people had made that mistake in the past. Still, Gozu seemed to be a bit different from the other saiyans he'd met. He wasn't as rude as many of them and he was clearly pure of heart. Very few beings in the universe earned the trust of the Supreme Kai. It was considered an honor even among the Kais themselves.
Finding another ally and friend in Gozu, Oryan spent much of his time training with him when they weren't on a mission. Gozu turned out to be far much stronger than Oryan. Their training was usually one sided, but Oryan wasn't one to lie down and give up, and it seemed that Gozu enjoyed their training.
The Elder and Supreme Kai both approached Oryan one day while Gozu was training and made a request of him. They had located a powerful source of demonic magic that had just recently appeared on earth. They explained that this particular power was strange. Although it was true that it was demonic energy, it was wielded by one who was pure of heart. They also stated that it was sealed somehow and sent Oryan to uncover the reason for the sealing and hopefully recruit the person to their side.
Oryan left immediately, hoping to get back before Gozu's next mission. Unfortunately for them both that wouldn't be the case and Gozu would be gone before Oryan could return.
When he arrived on Earth, Oryan took note of the dark energy resonating from the mountains nearby. His transmission back to Earth had been surprisingly accurate since he'd been aiming to go to where the source of the power was. As he proceeded up into the mountains, Oryan came across a rather interesting monastery. In the middle of the outer cloister of the monastery was a peculiar statue. A being with ears and a tail like a fox seemed to have a pleading expression on his face. Oryan easily sensed the power within and knew it was the resonating darkness he'd sensed before.
He requested that the monks let him free the one they had sealed. The eldest of the monks stepped forward and nodded. He had sensed Oryan's might and knew it was far greater than that of the sealed one.
Oryan used his Kai magic to break the seal and the stone around the being crumbled away. They spoke briefly, Oryan and the one who had been sealed. After their short conversation Oryan knew he'd gained a new ally. He nodded to all the Monks and to his newest comrade, Kumori, and then he vanished as swiftly as he appeared, returning to the Planet of the Kais where he would find grave news of Gozu's downfall.
